Pakistan fired new missiles
Pakistan said it successfully tested on March 22 a low-range missile capable of carrying all kinds of nuclear warheads. The military says the missile is capable of avoiding radar detection. This Babar or Hatf-VII rocket has a range of 700km. This is the third time this year Pakistan tried missiles.

In February, Pakistan fired ground-to-ground Hatf VI missiles, capable of carrying nuclear warheads with much longer range, 2,000km. Earlier this month, Pakistan announced a successful test of another short-range missile, also capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
The military did not say where the test took place on March 22.
Pakistan and neighboring India - two nuclear powers - often conduct missile tests. The two sides signed an agreement to reduce the risk of unexpected nuclear war in the region.
Tensions between the two countries have eased in recent months after a series of bilateral negotiations. India and Pakistan have backed away from the brink of war after India blamed Pakistan for involvement in the attack on parliament in Delhi in 2001.
