Panda extends its habitat
Xinhua News Agency has just said that the efforts of conservationists have been rewarded when the giant panda is expanding its residence to the west.
Conservationists say they recently found the animal's faeces outside the 220,000-hectare Baishuijiang natural forest sanctuary adjacent to the two provinces of Gansu and Sichuan, which are known as the only place to live. most of pandas.
Mr. Huang Huali, deputy director of Baishuijiang Natural Reserve Authority, confirmed that this indicates that pandas are expanding their habitat and most likely their numbers are also increasing.
The National Forest Administration estimates that there are about 1,590 pandas living in the wild today, mainly in the Sichuan mountains. However, a recent report by British and Chinese scientists shows that there are currently more than 3,000 pandas in nature.
