People use fewer toilets than phone users!

The United Nations (UN) survey report shows that the number of mobile phone users is higher than the number of people using toilets in the world.

UN Deputy Secretary-General Jan Eliasson announced that the study data estimates the world population of 7 billion, of which 6 billion people have access to mobile phones. Meanwhile, the number of people accessing to the toilet is only 4.5 billion. Mr. Eliasson stated the UN goal is to try to reduce half of non-toilet users by 2015.

In India, the number of people without access to toilets is 626 million while there are 1 billion people owning mobile phones.

Mr. Eliasson emphasized in the press conference: 'Let's face it, a problem many people don't want to say. But that's central to ensuring good health, ensuring a clean and dignified environment for billions of people. '

The executive director of the United Nations Children's Fund Martin Mogwanja said: 'It also helps improve the safety of women who are targeted when they leave the house alone. Having a separate toilet safe for women is also a way for girls to not drop out of school. We know it is a way to help them have more income in the future, to escape the poverty line. '
