After discussing with CDC experts and patients, Dr. Diaz was approved by the US Federal Drug Administration to conduct an anti-viral drug called Remdesivir by the US pharmaceutical company Gilead to treat the disease. multiply.

"As a result, the patient has recovered from fever after treatment and the health has improved. Although it is still too early to conclude the effect of this drug on Covid-19 patients in general, it is clear," he said. This is the only case and also the first in the world to use Remdesivir to successfully treat patients with new corona virus infection.

In the past, Remdesivir has been tested in Ebola patients and has been shown to be safe but ineffective. Remdesivir, meanwhile, used to treat monkeys with Mers-COV, another corona virus, to show positive results.
