Chinese hospital confirmed a cure of Wuhan pneumonia

A hospital in China has confirmed successful treatment of a patient with acute pneumonia caused by a new strain of corona virus. The patient was discharged from the hospital on January 27.

According to Xinhua News Agency, patients were treated at facility 1 of Nanchang University Hospital in Jiangxi Province. This is the first patient with corona virus infection in Jiangxi province to be cured.

The patient is a 38-year-old man, driving a friend from Tan Can District to Hong Ho City in Hubei Province on January 3 and returning to Xin Can on January 5. Shortly thereafter, this man had symptoms including fever, cough, and chest tightness.

The doctor diagnosed him with a coronary pneumonia virus (also known as Wuhan pneumonia) and decided to transfer the patient to a provincial hospital - facility 1 of Nanchang University Hospital, for treatment.

Mr. Hua Phi, deputy head of the Department of Resuscitation and Respiratory Facility 1 of Nanchang University Hospital, told Xinhua that the patient was in critical condition when he was transferred to the hospital.

The head of the resuscitation and respiratory department added that the patient's condition improved significantly after being treated at the hospital.

However, Xinhua did not provide any information about the medicines or explained how the patient had been successfully treated.

In another development, Xinhua reported on January 28 that researchers in China have selected 30 drugs to test anti-coronary virus causing acute pneumonia in Wuhan, including the existing ones, Eastern medicine and natural products with biological activity.

These are not drugs used to treat diseases but were initially selected as "candidate" drugs for testing, Xinhua News Agency reported on Jan. 28, citing a notice from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

As of 18:15 on January 28 (Vietnamese time), Chinese authorities confirmed 4,635 cases of corona virus infection and 106 deaths, according to Hong Kong's South China Morning Post .
