Pollution in China has caused dust and smoke equipment to grow

The pollution of smog covered the capital of Beijing and many other cities made the anti-dust equipment quickly appear on the market, with exaggerated advertisements and skyrocketing prices.

Jingdong Mall is a large Chinese e-commerce platform. In just two days of October, sales of air purifiers had skyrocketed to 400% from a year earlier. On average, about 10,000 sets are sold to the market every day.

Meanwhile, about 1,000 types of air purifiers are available on Taobao, an e-commerce site of Alibaba Group. Their prices range from 40-20,000 yuan (US $ 6.5-3,200).

The anti-dust mask is one of the most popular items on the market today, with the feature supposedly able to prevent PM 2.5 small particles of dust (having a diameter less than 2.5 microns) in the air. , with prices ranging from 2.5-100 yuan (0.4-16.3 USD). PM 2.5 can penetrate deep into the lungs, affecting health, causing breathing difficulties and affecting the eyes, nose, and throat.

Other imported products often cost "exorbitant" . The price of selling a Korean air purifier is 14,000 yuan (2,300 USD). This product is advertised as a quick removal of pollutants, odors or toxic chemicals in a room of 60m 2 , while also being used as a dehumidifier or pathogen treatment.

The manufacturer introduces their products with many benefits that attract attention to people, such as anti-fog goggles that can protect three-dimensional eyes. The Japanese electronic mask is like a miniature air purifier, ignoring 99% of PM2.5 dust particles. Healthy foods, computers, construction materials or vegetables also appear in the fight against dust and smoke in China.

Air pollution in China has not shown signs of diminishing in recent years. In many areas of Beijing, fog, dust and smoke still cover a wide area. Dense air and dust pollution was previously recorded in many other cities, causing schools to cancel outdoor classrooms or even close, facilities must restrict travel.
