Private investment in renewable energy should be encouraged
On the evening of June 12, the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) gave a presentation with the topic ' Possibilities for renewable energy development in Southeast Asia '. One of the renewable energy sources has not been fully exploited in Vietnam.
According to the report of the Institute of Energy, Vietnam has so far exploited only 25% of the renewable energy source, 75% has not yet been exploited.
Roman Ritter, an energy expert, frankly remarked, Vietnam has great potential for renewable energy but has not made use of it, especially wind power.
In order to develop renewable energy (solar energy, wind power, biofuel .), Roman Ritter needs to have the participation of private economic sectors.

According to Roman Ritter, many countries in Southeast Asia and China have implemented many solutions to exploit renewable energy sources such as building small hydropower plants in rural areas as well as exploiting the potential of wind energy sources. .
Currently, Vietnam has electrified about 80% of the nation. The remaining 20% are remote areas. But the construction of a large hydroelectric plant, an atomic power plant to cover the grid to these places, takes 10 years more with very expensive costs. That is not to include the construction of the download stations in the regions with many losses in power transmission as well as investment costs for construction of stations.
This problem can be solved by other ways such as the construction of small hydropower plants and wind power plants (wind power) in areas that need electrification. During the day, a working farmer can resell energy that is not used to the state. At night, they will use the energy they produce.
Thus, with this model both generating income for the people, providing a shortage of energy for the state and the state will gradually not have to subsidize energy resources with less expensive costs. Wind power techniques can be accessed fast, easy to use and avoid many risks, especially quickly recovering investment capital. Models have been applied in Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia, China.
Experience in Germany shows that they have built wind power plants with a capacity of 5MW for 1 million Euro. Each station has 2-3 systems, within 5-7 years of study can pay back the investment. In addition, people have gained a lot of profits from selling electricity to the state, when buying through the state, the electricity price will be 10 - 15 cents / kwh, but the electricity price of people reselling to the state will be 40 -50cent / kwh.
According to Roman Ritter, renewable energy will create a lot of profit if the market is marketed to private businesses and left to private investors.
After the presentation of Mr. Roman Ritter, on June 14, at the Goeth Institute, Hanoi, there will be a seminar with the topic "Sustainable energy development in Vietnam" by energy experts Vietnam and Germany organized.
The content of the workshop will bring about solutions, experiences and knowledge about the development of renewable energy types that do not affect the environment, do not need to import fuel and can be used for a long time in Vietnam. Male.
