Programming spyware, very simple for just $ 20
Security researchers have just discovered a spyware development suite that sells for under $ 20 on a Russian website.
Virus hunting experts of Sophos security company have discovered the WebAttacker application suite on a web site of self-trained spyware and adware experts . Anyone can buy this suite directly on the website. Even suppliers offer technical support to buyers.
The WebAttacker suite includes scripts that simplify the ' task of infecting computer systems and spamming techniques ' to trick web surfers into accessing a malicious website.
Ron O'Brien, senior technology analyst at Sophos, said the suite also includes a number of built-in 'scripts' on how malware works - for example,' The script "calls for prevention of bird flu or information about Slobodan Milosevic's death - to help cyber criminals" learn "about attacks on social event engines.
Spoofed spam links to the latest news on social issues are often used to trick users into accessing a website that contains malicious code that is self-enforcing through exploit security flaws of your browser or operating system.
Providing spyware development software at such a cheap price means that technical skills are no longer a barrier for new entrants. Now even people who don't know anything can join the world of cyber criminals.
However, this is not the first time that such malware development software suites have been discovered. Earlier this year, research experts at Sunbelt Software also discovered a special program that supports trojan development and keyloggers with a very easy to use interface.
