The 6th Vietnam Quality Conference

In the past 10 years, Vietnam has successfully implemented barcodes and code operations with participation in international MSM organizations. However, new businesses and organizations focus on exploiting mainly traditional one-dimensional bar codes.

The above comments were made by the Ministry of Science and Technology (Science and Technology) at the 6th Vietnam Quality Conference. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, opening October 27 with the theme '' Quality Quality - Development and Integration Key ' and will last until October 28.

It is known that in the Quality Year 1996-2005, tens of thousands of products carrying Vietnamese article numbers and barcodes with the first three numbers 893 are being circulated on domestic and foreign markets.

Application of article numbers and barcodes helps Vietnamese enterprises improve productivity, quality and reduce unnecessary costs thanks to the unique, accurate numbering and automatic scanning of the bar code system. Not only confined to production and business enterprises, operation of article numbers and barcodes is also expanded to some other areas such as personnel card, luggage management, airport customers .

Sample code and barcode

Currently, there are more than 4,600 enterprises applying article numbers and barcodes. However, Vietnam mainly exploits traditional types of one-dimensional bar codes.

Other types of codes and automated identification tools such as radio frequency identification are at the research stage, and there are no effective measures for organizations and businesses to apply.

This is the challenge that needs to be addressed in the article number and barcode operation of Vietnam in the period of 2005-2010 - according to the Ministry of Science and Technology. In addition, Vietnam needs to promote the application of article numbers and barcodes in food traceability, public health, civil servant management and people's identity cards.
