Radioactivity in rainwater has almost fallen

Information from the Ministry of Science and Technology confirmed that radioactive isotope concentrations in rainwater in Vietnam have decreased to almost negligible levels.

The latest report from the incident information processing working group Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant of the Ministry of Science and Technology announced yesterday evening 21/4, no longer detected Cs isotopes 134 and Cs-137 in rainwater samples on April 17. Meanwhile, artificial radioactivity levels of I-131 are almost no longer significant.

Measured values at the monitoring station of the Center for Radiation Safety Technical Assistance and Emergency Response (Department of Radiation and Nuclear Safety) show that there is no abnormal radiation increase in the day 21/4 / 2011 compared to the previous days.

In the article published this morning, Vietnamplus page quoted Dr. Dang Thanh Luong, Deputy Director of the Department of Radiation and Nuclear Safety , who said that the Northern Hemisphere discovered I-131. However, if nothing changes, after a few weeks, the concentration of I-131 will also dissolve in the air.

Regarding the Japanese situation , Tokyo Electric Power Corporation (TEPCO) said the level of radioactive water in the basement of the 5th and 6th unit assembly units and the tunnel connecting with units 3 and 4 are increasing.

TEPCO also announced that it has chosen Areva Company of France to build a cleanup facility for standing water at the Fukushima I plant area with a capacity of handling 1,200 tons of contaminated water / day. It is expected that this facility will be put into operation in June.
