Speaking at the opening ceremony of the center in the town of Angangueo in the Pacific coast state of Michoacan, President Calderon said: " This butterfly conservation development center is not just a place to go for a walk but to learn about Magical creatures of not only Mexico but the whole world . "

" The project will benefit the entire western region of the state. The Ministry of Tourism said hotels in Angangueo and surrounding areas have been allowed to participate ," President Calderon added.

The Monarch butterfly speaks with its special migration, in which millions of butterflies have flown to a small area in Michoacan for a year.

However, this butterfly is in danger due to the effects of deforestation. Environmentalists said last year only about a quarter of the migratory butterflies came to Mexico from the US and Canada compared to every year.
