On November 14, the leader of the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Biology of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, Quang Binh Province, said that the unit had just handed over 6 individuals of rare animals to proceed. emergency rescue.
Individuals include three red-faced monkeys (scientific name Macaca arctoides), two mold monkeys (Macaca assamensis) and a Python reticulatus, handed over in poor health, some injured in the leg , rubbing skin.
After rescuing and taking care for a while, achieving good health, these individuals will be released to the natural environment in Phong Nha National Park.
These animals are exhibits of an illegal trafficking and transporting line of precious and rare animals, arrested by the police of Tuyen Hoa district (Quang Binh) while being transported for consumption on November 10.
Red-faced macaque, moldy monkey and python are all rare and precious forest animals of Group IIB under the Government's Decree No. 32/2006 / ND-CP on management of endangered, precious and rare forest plants and animals.
In the Red Book of Vietnam and the world, these species are on the list of very endangered and are in danger of being endangered.
