Revealing electric pickup truck running 645km with just one charge

Thanks to four powerful electric motors per wheel, R1T can accelerate from 0 to 97 km / h in just 3.2 seconds.

After years of development, Rivian , a US start-up company , officially unveiled the first "spirit child" at the Los Angeles Auto Show yesterday (November 26), Verge reported. R1T uses four separate electric motors with a capacity of up to 147 kW for each wheel, unlike most current electric vehicles that are usually only equipped with a single engine. Vehicles can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour (97km / h) in just 3.2 seconds.

With three battery pack options including 105 kWh, 130 kWh and 180 kWh, R1T can run 370 - 645km continuously on a single charge. The car is integrated with fast charging technology, but due to the large battery capacity, Rivian's pickup model still needs a lot of time to fully charge.

R1T is not too different in size with current diesel pickups with a length of x width x height of 5.7 x 2.18 x 1.82 m. The vehicle has a payload of about 798kg with a towing capacity of up to nearly 5 tons. The chassis is made of high quality synthetic materials and wood.

R1T is equipped with a range of modern technologies such as camera, sensor, radar, GPS LIDAR navigation system with high accuracy, allowing vehicles to be self-driving on the highway. In addition, the car also has comfortable furniture and anti-theft security system. Rivian's electric car is expected to be available in the market by 2020.
