The road to charge the world's first car

Just running and charging, that's the use of the road that just opened in the suburbs of Stockholm, Sweden.

The Guardian reported two electric lines about 2km long embedded on the road connecting Stockholm Arlanda Airport to the logistics area, charging the car and truck batteries.

Accordingly, vehicles connected to rails through the car need to be under the car to get electricity, when the battery is full, it needs to be automatically lifted, disconnected.

In addition, this flexible charging design differs from roadside charging stations, allowing the car's battery to be smaller, cheaper to manufacture.

The first customer to experience this route was a truck that used diesel from a domestic logistics company.

Hans Säll - eRoadArlanda Group executive director behind this project shared: "All existing vehicles and roads can be adjusted to take advantage of this technology. There is no electricity on the road. Electricity exists only. on 2 rails such as wall sockets, 5-6cm deep are where electric current is.

If the road is submerged in seawater, electricity will remain on the road surface with a voltage of 1V. You can go barefoot up there. "

"If we can electrify 20,000km of highways in Sweden, I believe it will be enough. The distance between the two highways is usually no more than 45km, electric cars can move on that road without charging", he added.

1km of current track costs 1 million Euro, 50 times cheaper than the cost of building an urban electric train system.

The ministerial-level representative present at the inauguration of the route said that he was discussing with Berlin (Germany) about future connectivity.
