Robot learning to dance

Japanese scientists have successfully made robotics and dance.

This robot can remember the traditional dance based on the movements of the dancers. According to the researchers, they built this robot for the purpose of preserving dances that may be one in the future.

Named HRP-2, the 1.5m high and 57kg robot by Kawada Industries (Japan) is engineered to mimic movements such as the shaking and smooth movements of Aizu Bandaisan, an artisan. Japanese folk.

HRP-2 learns to dance by capturing the dancers' moving images and based on these images, the processor converts into signals that control the robot's joints.

Scientist Shinichiro Nakaoka and colleagues at the University of Tokyo say they have designed the HRP-2 to not lose its balance when performing complex movements. In addition to learning to dance, HRP-2 can also copy human movement in the production line.
