Robot mimics the hamster
Spanish experts have introduced a new invention, based on the hamster's performance in cages, to assist farmers in patrolling their farms and harvesting crops.

Researchers at the Technical University of Madrid say the Rosphere robot they created imitates the hamster's motion in the cage, thanks to a balancer that is controlled by electronics, according to the BBC.
In field experiments, the Rosphere has demonstrated the ability to effectively support farm work, such as monitoring farm land.
The researchers explained that they chose spherical robots because robots that ran on wheels or were fitted with feet could have difficulty moving through uneven terrain.
The robot is equipped with a wireless communication system and can be attached to other sensors to measure and transmit data on environmental conditions such as humidity and temperature.
