Shanghaiist on Saturday said Xian'er was located at Longquan Temple in Beijing earlier this week. As a research product of artificial intelligence experts, robots can feel the surroundings and answer questions about Buddhism.
Longquan Temple uses Xian'er with the desire to introduce and spread Buddhism to the younger generation in China, especially through social media. Xian'er even has our own Weibo account.
The prototype-based robot is the protagonist of the animated series by monks of the temple and volunteers, to introduce Buddhist thought in a simpler and easier to understand way.
In China, more and more temples use technology and online facilities to connect with the people. In March, East Hua Shui Temple in Guangdong Province became the focus of attention after announcing the recruitment of more than one million visitors and 4,000 resumes in five days.
