Tuong Ngoc Phuong said that her teacher had a simple life, for several decades, only a piece of tofu with pumpkin porridge was eaten every day. More than a month before he passed away, he only ate half a bowl of porridge each day, drinking less than half a tablespoon of water.

He passed away in the sixth lunar month of 2012, enjoying the life of 94 years old. The monk's body was placed at Sung Phuc pagoda for 5 days, then transferred to Pho Chieu Pagoda. Because he was a senior monk, Pho Chieu Pagoda decided to " worship ang" for him and invited expert Chu Quoc Sinh to perform.

"Venerable Phuc Hau, more than three years ago, started to sit in ang, close ang, to this day the opening ceremony of the ang, all are perfect," said Chu, who successfully preserved many mummified Buddhas, said.
