While going to the forest, a villager in Quang Nam discovered and dug a root of Ngoc Linh ginseng weighing about 1 kg, which is over 100 years old.

In the afternoon of June 25, Chairman of Nam Tra My District People's Committee (Quang Nam) Ho Quang Buu said that a farmer had dug Ngoc Linh ginseng weighing nearly 1kg with a life of more than 100 years in Ngoc Linh mountain area.

The dug out of the " giant " roots are Mr. Ho Van Chieu, who resides in Tu Ton village (Village 4, Tra Linh commune, Nam Tra My district).

According to Mr. Chieu, about 5 days ago, he went to the top of Ngoc Linh to hunt down Ngoc Linh ginseng naturally and was lucky to discover Ngoc Linh ginseng more than 100 years old (ginseng has 100 burns, each burning corresponds to 1 year old) ).

Right after digging, Mr. Chieu cut the forest to bring this rare ginseng root to Tra Cang commune, Nam Tra My district and sold it to Mrs. Thuong, the owner of the grocery store for 200 million dong. Ms. Thuong gave electricity to giants in Da Nang and Saigon to sell for VND 250 million.

There are many traders from Da Nang going to Nam Tra My district to find ways to buy ginseng. According to the world collecting Ngoc Linh ginseng, this is a rare ginseng root, found in the forest of Ngoc Linh mountain since 20 years ago.

Chairman of Nam Tra My District People's Committee Ho Quang Buu said that the district is looking to buy back to send to gene banks and display. However, due to difficult budget conditions and high prices, they are trying to negotiate.
