Robot self-judgment
Experts from Cornell University and the University of Vermont have created a starfish starfish that is capable of sensing damage to the body and figuring out how to adjust to keep going.
Starfish robots have sensors mounted inside the joints and use information from these devices to create a computer model of the structure and movement itself. When the sensors show a change, the robot can adjust the model to accommodate new conditions. The manufacture of Starfish opens up the possibility of using space exploration robots.
