Yury Nosenko, deputy director of the Russian Federal Space Agency, said that Russia and China could jointly implement the moon exploration project in the near future.

Picture 1 of Russia and China cooperate to study the moon On Monday ( October 31 ), Nosenko announced that China had formally requested Russia to cooperate in a project to build an autonomous probe on the moon. In the 60s and 70s of the last century, Russia also successfully conducted a similar project.

In 1970 and 1973 , Russia's Lunakhod self-propelled vehicles rolled on the moon and brought many valuable research results. Nosenko said he will transfer these valuable experiences to China in this fascinating cooperation project.

After China has completed all its own necessary research, Russia will officially embark on the two countries' moon exploration program. The Chinese and Russian moon explorer cars will be put on the moon by a Russian spacecraft in 2012. After self-propelled explorers are put on the moon, Russia and China will cooperate to exploit this project in the next 5 to 10 years, depending on the life of this vehicle.

The two sides will cooperate on the geographical, chemical structures etc. on the moon's surface, as well as studying future moon bases.
