Russia launched the US satellite from the launch pad
At noon on June 1 (Vietnam time), Russia successfully launched a US 5,600kg telecommunications satellite from the floating platform on the Pacific Ocean.
Intelsat 19 satellite on the Odyssey launch pad
According to the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos), the Zenit-2SL rocket carrying the Intelsat 19 satellite was launched from the Odyssey launcher in the Pacific at 923 am 1-6 hrs Moscow (12h3 noon 1-6 VN time).
RIA Novosti said 60 minutes later, Intelsat 19 separated from the rocket and flew into orbit.
The Intelsat 19 satellite of the Sea Launch Group (USA), weighing 5,600kg, is designed to last 15 years.
When launched, the satellite carries C-band and Ku-band transceiver systems to provide telecommunications services to the Pacific region, including Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the West Bank. U.S.
