Russia successfully assembled the latest artificial heart valve model
Russian heart surgeons have successfully transplanted the world's latest artificial heart valve model by self-study and fabrication by scientists in the country.
This is the first surgery in the world for this new heart valve transplant and has been successful.
Russian news agency Ria Novosti on November 25 quoted Professor Sergei Nikonov from the Center for Cardiothoracic Surgery - called Bakulev of the Russian Academy of Medicine, said the transplant surgery had many complicated problems. However, under the direction of cardiologist, Leo Bokerya, a talented practitioner, the surgery was successful. This world's best-known artificial heart valve has been implanted for a woman, 63, who has severe aortic valve disease.
According to Professor Nikonov, the above valve model can be transplanted for adults with severe aortic valve disease, but it is ideal for younger patients. It is estimated that about 125,000 people in Russia need to conduct similar surgeries every year.
Earlier, Russian scientists announced the creation of a new artificial heart valve model, the world has not been able to do so. This is a three-cap artificial valve model, just like natural heart valves, made of special titanium alloy and creates close physiological conditions.
