Russia successfully developed no-armor vehicles

Russia has successfully developed an armored vehicle that can operate without noise, and is likely to become an unmanned vehicle.

RIA Novosti quoted press spokesman Sergey Suvorov as saying that the company had successfully developed and experimented with a new combat vehicle based on the BTR-90 armored vehicle. Rostok is capable of noiseless motion.

The car was named Krymsk , after a city in southern Russia. Krymsk uses a hybrid generator with a capacity of 300kW and a special electric drive. It can do no noise with element stock when the internal combustion engine is not working.

"The research works to serve the interests of the Russian Defense Ministry, although at this time, the distance traveled by the machine is still limited, but with the use of new energy storage devices, The move may be several times higher, " said Sergey Suvorov.

A representative from the development company said, the Krymsk machine was in fact available as a buffer for the remote control mechanism, similar to an unmanned vehicle. "The electrical systems of this prototype allow for remote control, while modifying minor details and developing appropriate control algorithms, as well as corresponding software, It can create a robotic foundation, " Suvorov explained.

Referring to another advantage of the new engine, Suvorov said that although the engine power was 1.5 times lower than the original BTR-90, this test showed good results.

According to Suvorov, during the Kubinka test, the acceleration prototype reached 80km in 33 seconds. Its maximum speed is about 97 km / h, and its fuel storage capacity at speeds of up to 40 km / h can reach 940 km, which is about half the speed of the BTR- 90 have the same volume of fuel tank.

In the near future, the new combat vehicle will be equipped with a range of weapons operating under physical principles, such as laser weapons or electromagnetic guns.
