Safe and energy saving with 'smartphone charger'
A Finnish computer engineer has developed the world's first smartphone charger to automatically power off and isolate the power source as soon as the phone is pulled out. The device promises to prevent the risk of fire and electricity (estimated, the phone chargers wasted 8,000 watts of electricity per year).
Asmo charger
Engineer Asmo Saloranta (33) came up with the idea of inventing the Asmo charger after his fiancé's house burned to ashes just for forgetting to unplug the phone from the outlet. The Asmo charger (weight only 100g) has 110-250V input voltage and 5V output voltage.
This eco-friendly charger can be used to charge different electronic devices (including most Android phones and many iPhone models) thanks to a variety of cables - such as Micro-USB cable, Apple 30-pin and Apple Lightning.
Consumers can now choose to buy Asymbot headset designs in the US or Europe, by sponsoring at least $ 29 for the manufacturer via the Kickstarter.com startup website. Expected, the product will reach consumers in the UK in October.
