Sandstorm swept away flying objects on the French beach

The sand whirlwind swept across the French beach, causing a series of objects that suddenly lost weight to fly to the sky.

The sand whirlwind appeared unannounced on the Riviera Beach in Antibes, France, on August 9, causing a chaotic scene when seafarers rushed back and forth to recover their properties, according to the Telegraph.

In the video posted by the local Virginie Segal on Facebook, the property of the seafarers includes a green turtle buoy, orange clown fish, towels, sun umbrellas, . simultaneously flying into the air. Many objects were swept too high for seabirds.

"I was showering when a float of a flamingos flew over. It was then that I realized it was my daughter's buoy , " one witness recounted. Sand whirlwind lasts about 20 seconds.

Sandstorm is a strong wind, 1-10m wide and can be over 1,000m high, formed when a hot air stream near the surface rises rapidly through a cooler air bag with a low pressure above. This phenomenon occurs in sunny days, often harmless but can also harm people and property if strong enough.
