Science makes a virus that kills cancer cells, a major turning point for mankind?

While the most effective cancer treatments today leave too many terrible side effects, this method if successful will create a huge turning point.

Cancer has become a problem of the century but there is no radical treatment. So, science has tried many ways, even applying the most bizarre methods.

And now, they have created a virus, thought to be able to activate the immune system to hunt down cancer cells.

Be aware that cancer cells are very good in avoiding the immune system. Therefore, Swiss experts used a form of artificial virus , which contained proteins of cancer cells.

This method will be used to fight certain types of cancer.

When the immune system encounters these viruses, it traces the protein inside. In other words, the immune system will hunt down every cancer cell that has the same protein stamp.

The theory of the study shows that this method will be used to fight certain types of cancer. Experts can simply take protein from a patient's tumor, inject it into the virus and inject it into the body to activate the immune system.

In mouse tests, this method made the tumor shrink significantly. So soon, experts are looking forward to testing on humans.

"We hope that new methods and technologies will soon be applied to cancer treatment, in order to increase the success rate of this war" - quoted Professor Daniel Pinschewer, a researcher from Basel University ( Swiss).

Professor Pinschewer said the team created a new virus based on LCMV virus (lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus) . The new virus has been removed to the fullest extent, but can still activate the immune system.

If this method is successful, it will be a great hope for people to bring too few side effects.

When placing cancer proteins in the virus, the body creates a strong army of antibodies, tracing cancer cells and destroying them.

In general, if this method is successful, it will be a great hope for people to bring too few side effects, compared to the two most effective methods today are chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

The research is published in Nature Communications.
