Secret of Lake Constance: 'Aquarium' ghostly built by ... stone people?
A strange thing, which looks like part of an aquarium in an abandoned myth, built from 5,500 stone age years ago has puzzled archaeologists.
During the survey of Lake Constance in Northern Europe, archaeologists discovered extremely confusing rock structures at the bottom of the lake. Many stones with a width of over 2.5m are arranged in a strange architectural style, described as the famous Stonehenge stone ring in the UK, so it was named "Swiss Swiss Stonehenge" by the media.

The excavation process has revealed up to 170 giant stone blocks. It was initially thought that these rocks were a bizarre arrangement of nature, created by glaciers 18,000 years ago. But the analysis shows that this strange structure was entirely built by humans, dating back about 5,500 years ago, which is from the Stone Age . Most of the rocks were buried a few meters below the sediment at the bottom of the lake.

A spokesman for the State Archaeological Office of Thurgau State, Switzerland, which is excavating the lake, said the discovery was "sensational".
Researchers come up with many theories regarding the mysterious cluster structure : it could be a dam, burial mounds, or serve the ancient sea routes . But no matter which theory, it's still incredibly astonishing and confusing, dating back 5,500 years.

According to archaeologist Urs Leuzinger, a member of the research team, when built, the rocks can be located along the coast or in shallow water, before the geological process engulfed the area in deep water.
Leuzinger also said they are continuing to dig the area in hopes of finding other artifacts to further clarify the hypotheses. They also suspected there were ancient settlements buried far farther in Lake Constance.
