In Turkey, camel wrestling is regularly held. Every year, the Selcuk championship is organized to attract about 20,000 fans to watch. This sport originated from ancient Turk tribesmen and is believed to have been more traditional than 2,400 years. It is considered to be the original culture of ancient Muslim nations.

The Persian New Year celebrations also have a tradition of at least 3,000 years. This is the biggest celebrated holiday of the old Persians, which are still preserved by Iran, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and part of western China and northern Iraq. The new year begins on March 21 every year.
