Cauliflower test strips
Jack Ladenson, a chemist at Washington University in the US, successfully developed a caffeine test strip in a cup of coffee. This success is based on the properties of camel antibodies, as the camel antibodies against high temperatures are effective.
After Ladenson had put some caffeine in his body for months, the camels produced antibodies against the strange substance. Ladenson copied these antibodies in the laboratory and studied their reaction to caffeine.
He explained that because antibodies cling to caffeine, they allow measurements of the substance to be accurate, not to be less than sophisticated.
