See exotic fishes in the East India coral reef
Of the 2,631 coral reef species described in the book "Coral reef fishes in the East Indies" there are 25 new species for the scientific world.
It is the name of a set of three volumes of biologists - Dr. Gerald Allen and Dr. Mark Erdmann working at the International Conservation Organization (CI). They spent 60 years to gather materials about coral reef fish.
According to CI, the 'East Indies' waters are referred to as the Coral Triangle Area (Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, East Timor, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands), the East Sea, Andaman Sea (Thailand, Myanmar and Andaman Islands, India) and Christmas Island of the Indian Ocean.

CI said, 'The East Indies reef fishes' (Reef Fishes of the East Indies) is a very useful reference for biologists, naturalists and divers by books. provides comprehensive information for all coral reef fish species in the East Indies region - the global marine biodiversity center.
The book describes brief information about each of the 2,631 coral reef fish species, of which 25 are new to the scientific community living in the area with about 3,600 unique color photographs, of which about 40 % photos have never been published before.
'Publishing this book was my dream since I was a student at the University of Hawaii in 1960,' Dr. Gerald Allencho knew on CI.
Of the 25 newly discovered coral reef fish species, Pseudanthias mica is loved by two authors Allen and Erdmann because Mr. Erdmann named his daughter - Mica named for this fish.
'Beautiful Pseudanthias mica fish have relatives with grouper, eat plankton. They appear in groups, with each group having between 10 and 100 pairs, in which males have bright, prominent colors, ' Mr. Erdmann said via email from National Geographic magazine (USA).
'We hope that governments of countries and universities in the East India region - those who actively support us to complete this volume, can see marine biodiversity, especially the coral reef fish species, through which we expect governments to better preserve and manage marine resources, ' said Dr. Erdmann on CI.
University of Hawaii Press is a publisher of book distribution, the entire book price is $ 249.
