Shiver with the dwarven tribe that specializes in hunting extremely poisonous snakes to eat, a dish few dare to try!

Deep in the jungles of the Democratic Republic of the Congo lives a tribe called the Pygmy, or dwarves, who live isolated from outside civilization. Their life is still mainly based on hunting and gathering like primitive people.

In addition to the modest height, the most special feature of this tribe is probably the fact that they hunt venomous snakes to eat meat. When catching poisonous snakes, the people of the tribe will use knives to cut the snake in half.

In the video above, their victim this time is a Western Mamba viper (Scientific name: Dendroaspis viridis) - an extremely poisonous snake. Mamba vipers will be cut into small pieces and wrapped in banana leaves or skewered through a sharp bamboo to grill over charcoal.

Western green Mamba snakes have a length of 1.4 m to 2.1 m, their gentle appearance is easily confused with a harmless snake named green bush snake (Scientific name: Philothamnus semivariegatus).

The bite of this snake can be fatal within 30 minutes if not treated promptly, but they very rarely attack humans. In terms of conservation status, this snake is classified as of Least Concern (Stable).
