Singapore circulates a cervical cancer vaccine
Singapore has just officially approved the circulation of Gardasil, the world's first vaccine that can prevent cervical cancer. This vaccine is for women aged 9-26 years, with three doses for six months, costing 700 Singapore dollars (about 455 USD).
Gardasil is made by Merck & Co., a pharmaceutical company. (US) produces and protects the body that is injected with the papilloma virus (HPV), which causes 70% of cervical cancer cases.
Cervical cancer is the fifth most common cancer in Singaporean women. Every year, about 200 people suffer from this disease, of which 85 are killed. In the world, this is the second most common cancer in women. There are currently 48 countries in the world that allow Gardasil vaccines to be circulated.
