'Single-label' goat monsters are worshiped by Indian villagers
The goat with a strange disease made it only a big eye in the middle of the forehead considered by the people in the Indian village to be sacred and worshipful.
The goat with the big eye in the center of the forehead and one ear was born May 10 in Assam, India, causing many local villagers to be confused, according to Sun. Veterinarians predict the newborn goat will die within a few days but it still survives.
The goat with a rare syndrome called "cyclopia" forms in the fetus when the left and right hemispheres of the brain are not separated as usual in the early stages of the embryo. This leads to the formation of an empty cavity in the center with a single eye, or sometimes eyeballs attached partially or separately. Eyelashes and eyelids do not exist.
According to the villagers, goats are sacred objects.
The upper lip and lower lip still form but are usually very small, accompanied by a short upper jaw and without teeth, causing the tongue part of the animal to protrude. The disease also occurs in many other animals including horses, pigs, cows, cats and even sharks.
A lot of curious people visit the village to see the goat. According to the villagers, goats are sacred objects. Some people even start worshiping it.
"I was very shocked. It was like a miracle and people rushed to our house to see the young goat," Mukhuri Das, the goat owner, said. "The veterinarians said it would die within a few days but they were wrong."
Mukhuri is convinced that the birth of a goat will bring good luck to the family."I feed him like a normal goat. We were happy that it made us famous," Das said.
