US researchers have found a way to embed radio frequency identification (RFID) tags into paper, promising a broad array of applications in everyday life.

There are still some RFID tags on the market, but the size of the chip is large, shrinking the paper or making the paper thicker, and as a result, these sheets can not be printed.

To solve this problem, a team of North Dakota State University has developed a new technology called Leap Laser .

First, the chips were thinned with quartz sandblasters, according to the BBC.

Then the experts used a laser beam to transfer these ultra-thin chips to paper, attaching the antenna.

New smart paper can be used to print money, legal documents, tickets and other smart stickers with the goal of avoiding fraud.
