Smart translation glasses
NEC Japan has introduced 'Interpretive Glasses' which can display small words on the inside of the glass, helping tourists quickly communicate with local people in the native language.
The smart translation device is composed of: a microphone and a camera. After the microphone obtains the language of the dialogue, it will transfer the data to the user's laptop, the computer is responsible for continuing to bring this information to a remote server. This server will convert the conversation content into writing, then translate it into native language, eventually passing to the 'eye retina screen' of the glasses.
Smart glasses are expected to replace portable communication devices such as smartphones or dictionaries.
You can see the relevant words on the 'eye retina', while still being able to maintain a normal conversation with the opposite person.
This smart translation glass is designed to be simple and compact, users can wear it for a long time, and the power consumption is negligible.
But this translation glass is only a model, NEC plans to launch this product in 2010. The company also acknowledges the ability of this glass to translate, so currently only Consuming this product with the function of a device to display eye-wear data to replace the handheld devices that entangled users.
