The new work of Stevens Institute of Technology (New Jersey, USA) brings good news for those who do not drink coffee: you just smell coffee aroma is enough to own a mental "doping" dose.

In the first experiment, a group of more than 100 students were smelling coffee aromas before entering the 10-question GMAT math test, a graduation management competency test that standardized many pressure schools. used to evaluate graduation; while a group is equivalent in number and other qualifications, do a test without smelling anything before.

The results showed that the group smelling coffee before the exercise had a higher score and their mental function was also judged better after smelling the smell of coffee.

Another experiment of analytical reasoning skills on two other groups also showed similar conclusions. People who smell coffee aroma say they feel more alert and full of energy.

The lead author Adriana Madzharov said the miraculous change came from a " placebo effect" that coffee smells brought about, similar to someone being able to work better after just a word of encouragement. The scent of coffee brings a sense of alertness, dispels fatigue, helps people work with more energy by promoting mental activities.

Scientists believe that this result is not only a good suggestion for people who need to be alert but do not drink coffee, it also helps employers, architects, developers and builders, manage retail systems .

Scent can affect many people's emotions and moods. So, putting a scent in a suitable environment can make people living in that space happier, feel more peaceful, work more actively or enjoy shopping more. Particularly coffee smell, it is a pleasant fragrance that can suit the working environment.
