'Snake has lizards'

Shocked to see a snake-like animal that has its legs twisted in the water tank, Nguyen Vu Trung Kien immediately took the camera and went to ask a specialist.

Trung Kien, 29, from Quoc Tu Giam Street, Hanoi, said that on March 29, when he was cleaning a water tank in his brother's house in Xuan Dinh area, Tu Liem district, a "snake with a leg" was discovered. .

The animal is about 18cm long."I was startled when I first saw the snake but had legs so I recorded it to ask my friends around if they have any information about this strange species , " Trung Kien said.

Talking to PV, Dr. Le Nguyen Ngut, the scientist spent many years studying snakes asserted, it was not a snake but a lizard.

"These are short-legged lizards (Lygosoma) belonging to the Scincidae family, Lacertilia division. They are not part of the snake subdivision , " said Dr Le Nguyen Ngat.

Dr Ngu said that it is more likely that the species is short-legged lizard, they have distribution in Hanoi.

"This species is not poisonous, it is not harmful, it is not worth it, so there is no need to catch or kill , " Mr. Ngu said.
