Solar energy enough to supply the world?

Without hydroelectricity, thermoelectricity or even nuclear power, scientists believe that just electricity generated from solar energy is enough to supply the world. Interestingly, the current level of development has allowed this to be done immediately.

Solar energy meets the needs for the whole world?

A report published by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a leading US research institute, currently uses solar panels that can generate enough electricity for the world.

The world population currently uses about 15 terawatts of electricity supplied from multiple sources, one terawatt or 1,000,000 MW. Solar energy can generate a large supply in 2050, but the problem is not in technology but because of investment and reports.

Currently, the world does not necessarily need to make a solar revolution but just some adjustments can make a difference. America is a good example.

The US population accounts for less than 5% of the world's population but uses up to 26% of global energy. However, solar power accounts for less than 1% of total US electricity production.

" Solar power is one of the few technologies that have low carbon emissions, can be scaled up on a global scale and have a high capacity. It will be an essential element for the goal of reversing gas conversion "" Professor Robert Armstrong, head of MIT's Energy Initiative, said.

Notably, the project to produce 500 MW of electricity from 9 million solar panels in Topaz, California, western America. This electricity is enough to supply 160,000 homes and limit the discharge of 350,000 tons of CO2 per year.

Solar power also has the advantage of hoarding energy at peak times and providing back when there is no sunshine.
