Space shuttle Endeavor returns safely
This morning (Vietnam time), Space Shuttle Endeavor landed safely at Kennedy Space Center in Florida (USA), successfully completed a 12-day trip to the International Space Station (ISS), a trip. The longest take of a shuttle.
BBC said Endeavor landed at 8.39 pm on March 26 at local time (ie 7:00 am 27-3 Vietnam time). Previously, Endeavor's return trip was postponed due to bad weather, causing it to land more than 90 minutes later than originally planned.
During the 16-day ' history ' trip (including travel time and stay in ISS), the crew of Endeavor installed the first part of Japan's Kibo laboratory; assembling Canadian Dextre robots; made 5 trips out of space - the most ever made in a flight.
Returning to Earth this time, French astronaut Leopold Eyharts, of the European Space Agency, worked on ISS for 7 weeks. Replacing him is astronaut Garrett Reisman.
The next shuttle to the upcoming ISS is Discovery, which is expected to be launched in late May 2008, carrying the main part of the Kibo laboratory.
