Space shuttle Endeavor returned safely to Earth
Space shuttle Endeavor returned to Earth safely yesterday (August 21), ending a space mission that lasted nearly 2 weeks. The ship landed on the runway at Cape Canaveral, Florida state at 12:32 pm (local time), ie 23g32 (Vietnamese time).
Earlier, people were worried about Endeavor's return, because a scratch was about 9cm long in the abdomen. However, in the past few days and until the ship landed, NASA confirmed that the scratch was not dangerous during the return trip.
In 2003, a broken wing of Columbia sent hot air in while the train returned to Earth causing the ship to explode. But NASA claims there will be no possibility of a similar disaster this time.
The damaged part of Endeavor was also subjected to high temperatures during its return, but after a week of analysis and inspection, engineers believed the ship would be safe. When astronauts reported no problems, Endeavor crossed the South Pacific, Central America, then headed for the Florida Peninsula to the Kennedy Space Center.
The trip lasted 13 days, surpassing 8.5 million km.
