Stands of clouds stand like watchtowers from the universe

The image of a watch-like cloud of castles is recorded by an astronaut on the International Space Station (ISS).

An astronaut on the International Space Station (ISS) captures a large, vertically shaped cloud on the Andros island of the Bahamas , Atlantic Islands, during NASA's Expedition 48 mission, Mirror January 18 reported.

This is a type of cumulonimbus called cumulus castellanus. This type of cloud is formed by the vertical movement of air, often associated with thunderstorms.

"These tall, erect cylindrical clouds are a type. They are called castellanus clouds because they look like towers with slotted or watchtower walls of Medieval castles," a spokesman for NASA said.

"Andros Island is part of the Bahamas and is divided into three regions, North Andros, Central Andros and South Andros, each of which consists of many small islands connected by smaller estuaries. Andros is about 6,000 square kilometers, Andros is the largest of the 700 islands in the Bahamas, " the spokesman added.
