Mrs. Wilkinson, from Weston Turville, near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, said: 'I have heard children scream and when I run in, this dragonfly is flying around very fast.'

'The noise from the dragonfly is like the sound of a mini helicopter, like a monster of a Jurassic period. I didn't know whether to take a good photo, but I tried to get close enough and took some pictures.

We waited for the dragonfly to come back and then I pushed the door open with my hand and the dragonfly could escape. '

Wilkinson's daughter Molly and her son's friend, Ellie Shelby, both 24, were terrified by the giant insect that suddenly appeared last Friday (July 25).

But Shelby's young daughter, Isla Parkin, 3, is very excited and attracted by the giant dragonfly.

Mrs. Wilkinson is a painter in the film industry, adding: 'Since Isla is too young, he has no fear and approaches the dragonfly, which is interesting while my daughter and you are afraid. "

'It is all a matter of spirit'.

Mrs. Wilkinson pushed the living room door and waited, then the dark gray monster flew out. Since then no one has seen it again.

Dragonflies are creatures that have appeared on Earth about 325 million years, this insect is threatened by the widespread use of pesticides, water pollution and depletion of wetlands to build houses.

But in recent years, experts say this insect is being revived thanks to its conservation and warmer weather.

Britain's largest dragonfly is the offspring of the golden-ringed dragonfly with a length of up to 8 inches.
