Strangely, Vietnamese frogs suddenly change color when mating

It is not particularly impressive if you encounter the red swimming membrane frog (Rhacophorus rhodopus) under daylight.

At that time, they were just rustic frogs with yellowish brown or gray brown skin.

But at night, this frog is like molting.

Their colors turned red like a fire.

This color change makes the red swimming membrane frog stand out in the dark.

Thereby, their charm with their partners will be stronger.

Male frogs have a body length of about 40mm, while females are 1.5 times bigger.

In the reproductive season (June 4-6) they are often concentrated in large numbers at the branches close to the water source.

After the festival, female frogs will lay eggs in foam nests, rolled up with leaves.

Red swimmer frog usually lives in primeval forest at an altitude of 600-1000m.

In Vietnam, they are distributed in Yen Tu, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Kon Tum and Lam Dong.

They are beautiful colors, they are often trafficked as pets in Vietnam and internationally.
