These two locations are part of the Kush kingdom 4,000 years old. According to the researchers, this finding suggests that this empire is much larger than the hypothesis of scientists and the " rival " of ancient Egypt.

Archaeologists are now trying to dig up the Hosh el-Geruf area, 360 kilometers from Khartoum, before flooding from Merowe dam is released into the area next year.

According to researcher Geoff Emberling, who works at the Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago, about 3,000 years ago, ancient Egypt invaded Kush and took away 'hundreds and even thousands of kilos of gold every year' .
