Super power-saving light bulb

The new generation of super-saving light bulbs has just been introduced by Glasgow University in the next 3 years and will eliminate the current incandescent bulbs. Application of light-emitting tube technology (LED for short), new light bulbs consume less electricity than energy-saving bulbs that households are encouraged to use.

LEDs, which are used in electronic devices such as mobile phones and computers, have so far been considered unsuitable for housing due to low illumination. However, Dr. Faiz Rahman - research director at Glasgow University - said researchers have found a way to increase the brightness of LEDs but do not consume more electricity.

'Creating tiny dots on the LED surface helps to release more light molecules, thereby increasing the brightness of the bulb greatly without increasing energy consumption. This process is very time consuming as well as costly. However, we found a way to punch holes in billions of LED bulbs at a faster rate but much lower cost , 'Rahman said.

Not only are there less power consumption than current energy saving lamps, the incandescent light bulbs in the future will be smaller and can be used continuously for many years without changing, Tien Dr. Rahman affirmed.
