Surfing in Alaska's high tide
Alaska is home to beautiful natural scenery and also a place where frequent natural phenomena occur.
An impressive location is the Turnagain Arm, a shallow and long branch of Cook Inlet Bay, where there is a high tide phenomenon. This phenomenon occurs when tides come 'collide' with tidal waves in a narrow channel, and form swirling waves.
On the big tide, many people flock to Turnagain Arm to play windsurfing. Photographer Streeter Lecka of Getty Images spent 6 days to experience Turnagain Arm and get great photos. Please take a look.
