The culprit created black tides.

Since the giant tankers began to spread across the ocean, and from that moment onwards, the calamities caused by them became a topic that appeared quite often in the press. The culprit created these evil black tides , who were weak against this kind of poison caused by themselves. In 1967, the Torrey Canyon tanker, a great ship, hung the Liberia flag in the Sicilly Islands, the southern coast of England.

Hydrocarbons are the main pollutants in the sea and estuaries. Shipwreck accidents created terrible black tides.

The Exton Valdy ship was stranded in Alaska in 1983, making 11 million gallons of crude oil caused death for many sea dogs, sea lions, otters, birds . it took months to clean up 1700km coast by the "hot water" method .

Since 1995, it is imperative that the oil tanker compartments have to be designed in two layers and equipped with a reinforced system. However, this measure is not enough to solve the whole problem and more rigorous regulations are needed to prevent black tides.
