Many people guessed that it was a jellyfish, another friend said that this was a lovely squid girl. But the truth is, they are stingrays.

Appeared about 100 million years ago, stingrays have a meek, ostensibly appraised appearance with a thin, soft body like water. However, few people expected it to be one of the gods where fresh water and the sea were.

Stingrays often inhabit rivers in Southeast Asia, with a length of 50cm - 2m, with long serrated long tails.

In addition to their soft bodies, they possess a round mouth, the eye part on top of the head. However, dendritic stingrays do not use the eye to hunt, but often use the electromagnetic sensor system in the body to determine the prey position.

The adult male body is about 0.8m long, weighs about 20kg.

As the name suggests, this fish carries a very dangerous toxin . The poison is hidden in the tail spines - usually nearly three times the length of the body. Their tail spines are very sharp, made of vasodentin - hard and sharp cartilage, easily penetrating flesh. More specifically, their toxic parts can be deadly.

According to experts, stingray rays have from 1 to 3 spikes, 2.5 - 12cm in size, in which 2 are on the back, the largest is in the first part of the tail.

The tip of the spine is covered with a layer of cells that release toxins. The two sides of the spines have many prongs that increase the ability to tear the enemy's skin when stabbed, enabling the toxin to penetrate.

Toxins include a heat-sensitive toxic protein mixture. When entering the body, these toxins affect the heart system. If a low level of toxins can dilate or constrict peripheral vasculature, the case of high levels of toxins can cause anemia and damage the heart muscle, confusion and can lead to death.

With an exceptionally dark, bright back belly section - stingray is considered a clever camouflage.

Breeding stingrays are quite few, only 2-6 children / year. The baby rays are almost fully developed, just like the miniature version of their parents. Baby rays can hunt for themselves right after birth. The average life span of stingrays in the wild is 15-25 years.
