To grow spinach we can sow it directly or grow it with seedlings (planting distance is 5-7cm).

When seeding directly, we should pay attention to soak seeds for about 2 hours then drain before sowing.

Seeding density is from 1 to 1.5 grams / 1m2. Because of small amaranth seeds, when seeding, you should pay attention to mixing seeds with a handful of dry soil to sow seeds evenly on the tray.

After sowing for 25–30 days, the plant can be removed (10–15cm tall) and planted at a distance of 15 x 15cm or 12 x 20cm.

Take care of

When large vegetables are about 2-3 leaves, we conduct thinning for trees that can grow well, the distance between trees is 3-4cm. Irrigation or fertilizing every 7-10 days.

Growers need to fertilize plants , combine with soil preparation with a dose of 1.2 - 1.5 tons of manure / 1,000m2. After transplanting from 5 to 7 days when the plant has recovered, the person who takes care of the tree should apply topical fertilizer with diluted urea at a dose of 4 kg / 1,000m2 and irrigate enough water for the plant once a day.

Amaranth can be grown all year round but the best growing season is from February to July every year.

Amaranth is less prone to pests and diseases, if there are mainly leaf-eating worms such as caterpillars, deep green, deep cavities. People can use Sherpa or Sherzol to spray and treat. However, when using plant protection drugs, farmers need to follow the "4 correct" principle and ensure the isolation time, do not use banned drugs, do not use the prescribed overdose.
